GULUDU
The most important thing to me, and, what I love working on the most, is my project Guludu.
With all my work at music festivals and concerts, with travelling overseas and throughout Australia working with indigenous, the most exciting and wonderful thing I have been able to do is combine both music and culture.
A project I started working on solely in November 2017 has now, with the help of a small amazing team, turned into the beginnings of something that has gone beyond all expectations.
Bringing together the elements of music, culture and eco building, Guludu will help support an indigenous community and keep culture thriving, giving hope to future indigenous generations.
Guludu means peaceful dove in Yidinji. Yidinji is one of the languages spoken in and around Yarrabah and will be home to Julia Smith, an indigenous Police Liaison Office in Yarrabah and also a generous teacher and a custodian of culture. Her desire to teach the kids to be proud and expressive of their culture is relentless.
Guludu will help keep the kids in Julia’s community safe.
